WhyHot handles only the minimum information needed to run the service. We do not offer accounts, and we never ask you for your name, phone number, or email address. Advertising is served by Google, which uses cookies and advertising identifiers (Section 4), and topic explanations are produced by AI (Section 5).

We do not use this information for anything beyond the purposes above. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to build profiles about you.
Search terms you enter are stored so results can be reused, but they are never stored alongside your IP address or device token. As a result, we cannot tell what any particular person searched for.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA. We also do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Advertising on this service is served by Google. Google may use cookies and advertising identifiers under its own policies; see Section 4 for how to turn personalized advertising off.
We run Google AdSense on the web and Google AdMob in the mobile app to cover the cost of operating the service. In doing so, Google and its partners may use cookies and advertising identifiers to serve ads.
That information is not stored on our servers; Google handles it under its own policies. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Ads will still appear after you opt out; they will simply be less relevant to you.
To explain why a topic is trending, we generate a short summary using Google's Gemini API.

Only the already-public topic and headlines are sent. Who opened the page is never sent, so no information that could identify you is involved in AI processing.
Generated summaries are stored on our servers and shown identically to everyone, so the same topic is not generated twice. For how Gemini handles data, see the Gemini API Terms.

The service is operated from the Republic of Korea, and our servers are located there. If you use the service from the United States, information described in Section 1 is transferred to and processed in the Republic of Korea and in the United States.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
Because we do not hold information that identifies you, there is normally nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete on request. If you would still like us to check, contact us at the address below and we will respond as the law requires.
This service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with such information, contact us and we will delete it.
